Selling your used hair: questions and answers

Everything sellers usually want to know before shipping.

What kind of hair do you buy?
Used human hair: the wigs or bundles and extensions you no longer wear. Sew-in bundles and wefts, clip-ins, tape-ins, closure wigs, frontals and full lace units are all welcome, in any color, texture or condition. It has to be 100% human hair on a weft, clip, tape or cap. We cannot buy synthetic hair or loose, shed hair.
How much is my used hair worth?
Four things set the price: whether you are selling wigs or bundles, how long each piece is, how full the hair still is, and how many you send. We do not price on color or texture. The fastest answer is to run a free quote, which takes about two minutes. The pricing guide lists what we pay by length.
Is the quote what I will actually be paid?
Your quote is an estimate, which is why it is shown as a range. We can only go on what you tell us, so the amount is confirmed once your hair has arrived and been measured. You will see the confirmed amount on your order, and we email you, before any payment goes out.
Does it cost anything to sell?
Quotes are free. A shipping fee is charged to your card when you place the order: $9.99 covers one wig or up to 3 bundles; each additional wig or further set of up to 3 bundles adds $2.00. It is refunded in full when we buy your hair or the order is cancelled. If you decline a revised offer, we send your hair back and the fee pays for that return postage. The label itself is prepaid.
How long is my quote good for?
A quote is locked for 24 hours. After that you can request a new one; prices move with the market.
Can I send more than one thing in the same order?
Yes. Add a line for each hair type and length - a wig at one length and a bundle at another can go in the same box. The quote is the sum of the lines, and one prepaid label covers the whole shipment. The shipping fee depends on how much you send, and it is refunded in full when we buy your hair.
Do you buy colored or chemically treated hair?
Yes. Dyed, highlighted, bleached, permed, relaxed and keratin-treated hair are all accepted, and none of it changes the price - which is why we do not ask about color when you quote. The one thing we cannot buy is hair that is not human: synthetic hair and synthetic blends are returned.
What lengths do you buy?
10 to 30 inches, in 10, 12, 14 and so on - measured from the top of the weft or cap to the ends. Longer pays more. If the pieces in one line are not all the same, quote the shortest one. See hair requirements for the full list.
How do I get paid?
We pay by PayPal or Zelle; you choose when you place your order. Payment is released once the final amount is confirmed.
What happens if you grade my hair differently?
Our graders measure what arrives, check how full it is, and price it the same way your quote was priced. If it matches, your quote stands. If it does not - shorter, or thinner than the fullness you chose - the confirmed amount and the grader's notes appear on your order and we email you, and you can accept it or have your hair sent back (the shipping fee pays for the return postage). Get in touch if anything does not look right.
Why do you ask how full my hair is?
Used hair sheds and the ends thin out with wear, so two pieces of the same length can hold very different amounts of hair. Our price list is for a full piece; telling us honestly how full yours is gives you a quote you can count on. We check the same thing when your hair arrives. We cannot buy very thin hair, where you can see through the weft or cap.
What happens after I ship?
Your order moves through six steps, and the tracking page shows which one you are on: label sent, in transit, delivered, being inspected, payout processing, completed.
How do I track my order?
Use the tracking page with your order number and the email address you used. You do not need an account.
Do I need an account?
No. An account is optional and simply keeps all your orders in one place. You can sell as a guest and track by order number and email.
Is it worth sending just one piece?
You can, but most sellers send everything they no longer wear in one box. Each piece is priced separately and added up, and a single prepaid label covers the whole shipment, so a drawer full of old bundles and wigs is worth far more than one on its own. A bigger shipment has a slightly higher shipping fee, and it is refunded in full when we buy your hair.
How should I pack my hair?
Wash and fully dry each piece, detangle it gently, band each bundle and keep wigs on their cap. Seal everything in a plastic bag and put that inside a padded envelope or box. Then drop it at any carrier location.
